Migrate to the Salesforce Cloud Collector

The Salesforce Cloud Collector enables you to ingest logs into the New-Scale Security Operations Platform. If you previously used the Sales Cloud Connector and want to take advantage of the Cloud Collectors service, migration to the new Cloud Collector is recommended. Before you migrate, consider the following:

  • License Requirements: No additional license is required. The Cloud Collectors app is included with your existing license.

  • SaaS Cloud Connectors Support: Both the SaaS Cloud Connectors and the new Cloud Collectors environments can run in parallel.

The following table indicates the Sales Cloud Connector's endpoints that map to the new Salesforce Cloud Collector.

When you are ready to migrate:

  1. Stop the specific endpoints for the Sales Cloud Connector.

  2. Wait for the running tasks to complete. The user interface indicates the time required for task completion.

  3. Complete the prerequisites for configuring the Salesforce Cloud Collector. As part of the prerequisites, you must:

    1. Create user profiles in Salesforce and assign permissions to the user profiles.

    2. Create a user in Salesforce.

    3. Configure a connected app for the OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials flow on the Salesforce console.

    4. Create a sharable account in Cloud Collectors for the Salesforce service.

Note that for the Salesforce Cloud Collector, when you add a sharable account, ensure that you separately enter the hostname and the OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials that include consumer key and consumer secret obtained by creating the connected app in Salesforce. Hostname and OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials are distinct from each other.

  4. Follow the steps to configure the Salesforce cloud Collector.
