Configure the GCP Pub/Sub Cloud Collector

Set up the GCP Pub/Sub Cloud Collector to continuously ingest events from the GCP Pub/Sub that you configured. Configure a logging sink that exports its data to Pub/Sub. You can segment different services to different Pub/Subs or combine them together according to your ingestion needs.

  1. Before you configure the GCP Pub/Sub Cloud Collector, ensure that you complete the Prerequisites to Configure the GCP Pub/Sub Cloud Collector.

  2. Log in to the Exabeam Security Operations Platform with your registered credentials as an administrator.

  3. Navigate to Collectors > Cloud Collectors.

  4. Click New Collector.

    • NAME – Specify a name for the Cloud Collector instance.

    • ACCOUNT – Click New Account to add a new service account. You can use this account information for use across one or more GCP Pub/Sub Cloud Collectors. For more information, see Add Accounts for Google Cloud Collectors in Shareable Service Accounts.

    • PROJECT-ID – Enter the project ID in which the Pub/Sub subscription was created. You obtained the project ID while completing the prerequisites. For more information, see creating a service account.

    • SUBSCRIPTION-ID – Enter the subscription ID for the Pub/Sub topic to which the logs data is exported.

  7. (Optional) SITE – Select an existing site or to create a new site with a unique ID, click manage your sites. Adding a site name helps you to ensure efficient management of environments with overlapping IP addresses.

By entering a site name, you associate the logs with a specific independent site. A sitename metadata field is automatically added to all the events that are going to be ingested via this collector. For more information about Site Management, see Define a Unique Site Name.

  8. (Optional) TIMEZONE – Select a time zone applicable to you for accurate detections and event monitoring.

By entering a time zone, you override the default log time zone. A timezone metadata field is automatically added to all the events that are going to be ingested via this collector.

A confirmation message informs you that the new Cloud Collector is created.

    Note

If you edit the configuration for the installed GCP Cloud Collector instance through the Overview page by clicking the collector instance, the collector takes up to 15 minutes to start ingesting events again.
